Today’s Financial Post here in Canada has joined other international news sources by printing a front page article about Chilton and silver price manipulation. The Post often features some clever headlines and this article is no exception. The main headline reads”How to ‘deviously control’ a commodities market” and then sub-headlines read:
Banging the close: Acquiring a big position, then offsetting it before the close.
Quote stuffing: Flooding the market with large numbers of rapid-fire orders, cancelling them almost immediately.
Spoofing: Making bids or offers but cancelling them before execution.
It seems to me we have also seen all of these tricks applied to the ECU share price at one time or another over the recent past.
