Message: Random thoughts on junior silver miners

Last week I saw that Great Panther had a news release of an 1,681 g/tonne silver intercept over 3.15 meters. This is 55 ounce per tonne stuff. My first thought was this matches ECU's best grades but over a much better width. I then read the news release in which the fine print said the true vein width of the intercept is only 0.67meters. This means their best intercept of a 5,000 meter drill program was average ECU Terneras vein stuff.

Most of the junior silver miners are down from intermediate highs made in January 2010. Since then the drops are as follows:

First Majestic -10%

Endeavour Silver - 20%

Great Panther -40%

ECU - 25%

Great discoveries like Sabina Silver's Back River gold discovery have resulted in a 50% gain in their stock since January. Years ago they would have tripled by now though.

For every other stock I own, I can read Stockhouse and find levelheaded posts. Why has their ECU board attracted consistant venimous posts for years and who is behind them?

Endeavour silver lost money in their mining operations for years before becoming profitable the last couple of quarters. Even though they were producing silver at $22 per ounce and selling it at $14 an ounce, the sharks never circled. Would ECU be given the same number of unprofitable years without attacks?
