Today is stock option expiration day, which doesn't help. Some of the big call sellers just want to make a decent day's pay....again. Nothing personal, just business.

I got the impression from that recent video with Gensler that he was just waiting for the new financial legislation to be signed to begin to plug some of the gaping holes in the financial markets that allow for the shenanigans that go on daily. He seemed quite enthusiastic, even suggesting that they'll need a few hundred extra employees, since there was so much work to be done. I think he's already got a few hundred on the payroll.....doing what?

And the big take-down today? Could be some of the big houses are "adjusting their portfolios," so to speak, before the walls close in on them.
