This one seems like a pure inconvenience. No real environmental damage.

THIBODAUX -- An oil drilling rig overturned today in a Morgan City canal near U.S 90, U.S. Coast Guard officials said.

No injuries were reported as a result of the incident which happened in the Charenton navigational canal south of U.S. 90.

Investigators have not yet determined how much fuel was on board the mobile inland drilling unit, which has a 20,000-gallon diesel fuel capacity, but have determined the rig is not leaking fuel at this time.

The Coast Guard is currently prohibiting vessel traffic from coming within 1,000 yards on either side of the incident. A 500-foot containment boom has been deployed near the rig as a precaution

The cause of the incident remains under investigation.

Franklin-based T. Moore Services owned the rig, which was being taken to a demolition and scrap yard when it overturned, according to an Associated Press report.

A phone call made to Tina Moore, the owner of T. Moore Services, was not immediately returned.

Good Luck to all!
