Ahh, just returned from attending the womans gold medal game, and the party in the street that followed. The atmosphere in the building was electrifying and intense. Lots of Canadian penalties, and twice Canada had to endure being two women short, and successfully killing the five on threes. Until half way through the 3rd period, the game was a lot closer than it perhaps looked on t.v. For some reason the U.S. kept wanting to shoot high and into the glove of the Canadian Goalie. Even in the pregame warmup, they were all practicing shooting high. I would have thought the U.S. coaching staff would have figured it out, but not luckily they did not.
Bgpic, the offside rules are very simple.......The puck must procede over the defenders blueline...... before the attacking player or players cross the line......sometimes it does get confusing, as their back skate is the one that the linesman are watching, as the attacking player or players can be stradding the line.
Vancouver has been going crazy for ten days, and the hundreds of thousands of people are all having a great and exciting time, for the most part very well behaved. Bigpic, we would love to send you the bill!
Lots more Hockey to be played, and believe me......Most would love to have a Canada and U.S. rematch. I still have a remaining ticket to the Bronze medal game, and closing ceremonies. I would certainly love to attend the gold medal game, but right now the tickets are going for........$2000.00 minimum per seat, and up to $25000.00 per seat. I would have to have ECU and my other JPMs cooperating more favorably before I would consider paying those prices.
Maybe in four years, when the next olympics are held, or less.....................??
