You have company Scruffy. I used to email out this type of information. It goes into a vacuum.

However, do not despair as we shall one day be rememebred as "the guy/gal" who was right about gold after all. Hey, one of these days ECU will go nuts...until then.

Anecdotally, a few weeks ago, an old acquaintance ran into me and remembered my goldbug utterances from almost ten years ago, since I have always urged people to invest in the PMs. "Hey Sinbob" he shouted with a twinge of sarcasm and a bit of a snear; "still buying that gold?", to which I 'casually' replied; "all the way up from $250". He seemed startled and changed the subject. The guy, a chartered accountant by the way, didn't have a clue about the fact that gold has been just about the best investment anywhere in the last ten years. I noticed those within earshot were also non-plussed. The media has done a superb job I'd say.

I'm sure many on this BB have had similar experiences. I know people that just never get it and when the subject comes up, always challenge me on the topic. It becomes a lose-lose because, like you, I am on top of the subject and most aren't. They will eventually scewer me with; "oh yeah, what about ECU"? ( I had made the mistake of getting a lot of friends to buy it long ago). I don't talk about gold much any more. Like most here, I am waiting for the day of ultmate vindication and the removal of my tinfoil hat.
