Toronto, January 22, 2010 -- ECU Silver Mining Inc. (TSX:ECU) ("ECU") announces that it has received a receipt from the securities regulatory authorities in the provinces of Ontario and Québec for its final short form prospectus dated January 22, 2010 qualifying the distribution of 16,946,000 units of ECU ssuable
upon the exercise or deemed exercise of the previously issued 16,946,000 special warrants of ECU (the "Special Warrants").
Pursuant to the terms of the special warrant indenture governing the Special Warrants, all of the outstanding Special Warrants will be deemed to be exercised without any further action by the holders thereof immediately prior to 5:00 p.m. (Toronto time) on Wednesday, January 27, 2010.
