I really don't get whats casuing this spike in the usd...

We know the fed has ballooned its supple through QE, and god knows how much more by stealth QE. And now they are thinking about raising the budget ceiling by 1.5T to nearly 14T total. Foreign governments arent buying as many treasuries and have in fact started selling.

My only conculsion is that this is weak hand short covering and speculators jumping on board for a repeat of 2008. But I think the usd carry trade scare is over blown and way too many people are bullish on the usd.

Also its been more than a year since the Russian president showed that gold coin for a world currency but nothing has happened so far.
