Per ECU's news release today, the company milled 14,193 tonnes in July. Precious metal production was 541 oz of gold and 14,875 oz of silver. Recovery rates were 68% for the gold and 52% for the silver and were lower than normal because they processed some partial sulphide ores instead of just oxides. The company also processed 47 tons of roasted pyrite which is only 0.33% of the total tonnage for the month. Eventially the high grade rosted pyrite will comprise 10% or more of the tonnage.
Based on the above numbers, the average grades for the ore processed in July were 1.74 g/tonne Au and 62.7 g/tonne Ag. These grades are still significantly below ECU's average oxide grades per the NI43-101 which are 2.95 g/tonne Au and 162 g/tonne Ag.
So we are hoping that the following improvements can be implimented as soon as possible:
1.) Process higher grade ore.
2.) Increase tonnage of roasted pyrite concentrate feed significantly.
3.) Install 2nd stage water trickling leach process to recover 50% of unrecovered metals.
4.) Process oxide ore without sulphides at the new mill.
5.) Continue to increase tonnage thru mill.
6.) $1200 gold and $30 silver!
