If you speak of climate change to a geologist they will quickly point out that climate is always changing. People have been conditioned to believe that any climate change is bad, and that its all the fault of activity from man. This has created powerful social momentum to 'do something about the problem' yet there is no evidence whatsoever that we CAN do anything significant to change our climate on a largescale basis.

When you hear of oil companies or mining companies that make statements in regards to their carbon emissions, it is strictly about public relations. The management of these companies understand that they must be politically correct in order to win approval for their projects and they do not want to attract hostile reactions to add further hurdles to development.

I am sure Suncor execs shake their heads at the hypocracy of Joe 6-pac demanding changes to 'dirty oil' production, yet sitting in SUVs idling in long lines at the drive through because they are too lazy to get out of the car and walk into the restaurant to load up on junk food. But they will say the right things and keep a low profile. That is the real legacy of David Suzuki and other propaganda artists. They get people excited to attack high profile targets, but no real change is going to happen.

The entire debate on global warming is just another wasteful exercise, and its even more shameful because of the way that the debate has been used to attack and intimidate anyone that does not toe the party line. When you seek to subvert the scientific process with political posturing and mass propaganda, it should surprise no one that the outcome will be phony science. A few hundred years ago they would burn scientists at the stake if they dared to point out that the sun does not revolve around the earth. Eventually enough people had enough courage to let science stand ahead of irrational public opinion, and so too will this global warming agenda be debunked in time.
