I agree with your take on this legal squabble. Why fight this publically? Must be some hard feelings, and those are seemingly on GOG's side of things. Disputes are a part of doing business, they can get one upset, but you can't let everyone know it!

This does not seem like a major issue at all in ECU's universe (irrespective of planet alignment), and companies are bought and sold all the time while engaged in litigation. In fact, what decent size company could be sold that isn't in some form of dispute or other. That's what indemnities, holdbacks, carve-outs, etc. are for in purchase agreements.
