The last time the Canadian markets were closed but the US market open, gold rallied and most gold stocks went up over 5% in the States. Of course the juniors didn't trade. The next day when the market opened in the States, gold fell along with the gold stocks and the juniors got hit even though they didn't participate in the run-up the day before.

Hopefully not looking at the same situation occurring today. If so, I would encourage are you up north to start a petition to cancel any remaining Canadian holidays for the year unless the US is also closed :)
