The suspicious jockeying and trading that we witnessed today from CIBC is similar to what has occurred with ECU over the last many weeks and months, even years. Selling aggressively into a rising bid and even placing order below the bid are not typical of a trader whose motivation is to maximize profits. Using large walls at the ask to discourage new buying or quell rallies on days when the underlying commodity prices are strongly higher is contradictory to what common sense suggests should happen.

I am of the firm belief that ECU will make the strong move that many of us expect only when the time is right and that will occur when demand for the stock overwhelms the games these miscreants can play while sentiment is still in the toilet.
