Familiar territory

So, I've been 'away' re-focusing on my new business for the past 4 months, and yet here we are in a familiar position:

  • stock price is in silly territory
  • plenty of reasons for immense optimism for ECU
  • the rest of the investment world in tatters
  • Goldman Sacs giving away money to workers
  • in a Recession
So it kind of feels like those long trips you go on where you get back home expecting everything to have changed, and yet nothing really has. I can't even say that I've changed all that much! I'm still preaching patience, introducing new investors to this company, educating those who have the short term view etc. One thing has changed, I'm now the proud owner of a new consultancy company in the financial services industry firmly entrenched in long term thinking, stability, scalability, efficiency and rational thought... and for once, I'm actually making sense to people.

No matter what we see in the news, no matter how our share price looks... trust me there has been a monumental shift in our thinking. When I talk about solid foundations, long term view, integrity and honesty in business, I no longer see glazed eyes and automatic nodding of heads while the brain is obviously thinking (nut job... capitalism is "profits now"). I'm actually getting people to listen, to interact and to go along with the idea that what we have, the way we've had it is UNSUSTAINABLE. We need to think long term, we need to see the big picture. Guys... China does... why are they keen on getting their hands on Aussie mining resources? Simple. Resources are WAY undervalued. Silver is the gem of the undervalued world. Buy it now, as much and as quietly as possible, because a change is going to come. There will always be the Sacs who motor on oblivious to the foundations of their arguments until it comes crashing down on their heads (or of course it falls on US taxpayer heads)... but the shift has taken place, but it takes time to materialise. Those on this board understand that.

So the good news for me is... I'm back with you guys and all may look like it hasn't changed, but I know in my heart it has. In many ways, I'm pretty bloody happy we're still in the 50 cent category cause it's taking ages to get my stocks from my old company! As soon as they are in my hands, I'll solidify some ECU holdings in strong, long silver hands.
