Golden Minerals is a junior silver producer with a strong growth profile, listed on both the NYSE Amex and TSX.
If they do not predict or are usefull in prediction then why bother?
I try to have some basic knowledge about every stock I own or intend to own.
That basic knowledge consists of what endeavour the company is in, what are the assets, who and how operates those assets, where the assets and the company are located and what influences the company is under.
The influences are things political regarding the company's location or it's assets. Next in influence are things financial. How much cash does it have, what is it's income or debt if any, and is it capable of raising operating cash. What is the company's reputation.
Finally in what category of the market does the company exist. Does that category have an immediate or long term future. Is that category subject to political or psychological influence locally or globally.
Knowing who, why and how a stock is manipulated helps me a lot. It is as if I am a detective trying to apprehend a criminal, the more I know about him the easier the task. Some times it means going along for the ride with the manipulators and use their hard work. Done that many times, even with ECU shares. For instance now, I buy because of a great asset at a ridiculously low price. Thanks to those manipulators for the opportunity. Now you know why I sometimes am up about our low share price.
Charting ( or numerical analysis ) tells me the past history of the company's price. Under normal conditions, like a serial killer, company's tend to repeat, so charting does have some usefulness as to what and when may happen with the share price. But knowing the previous aspects is the main indicator, charting is only an aid.
The 'Physics' ( gravity, electromagnetism) I call just back ground noise that to me has no significant influence relative to all the above examples. Electrical/electronic engineering was my education and employment before retiring. That probably colours my view of that aspect.
We all have our views, I contribute mine, hope it helps to understand where I come from and why I do what I do. Thanks to all here for ideas contributed particularly those no matter how out of line they may be relative to mine. Having access to various ideas enriches our lives and opens the mind to more awareness.
Cheers.
