Trying to make short term bets in the gold market is not easy and most investors should stay well long and trade the edges or 1/3 position at most because they simply are out of their element and this includes most letter writers and techincal guys. Although I find something useful in the writings of many people, it's mostly those who focus on mid-term to long-term trends that are most helpful to me because this fits my investment style. I have never been one to pay much attention to sell in May and go away trading stuff and even wonder why in global markets with 24 hour trading such an outdated concept still exists but that's another whole discussion. I would say when it comes to short term calls you can do just about as well with a coin toss unless geo-politics or some unforseen event intervenes. Whether gold bottoms last week or next week or in early July matters little to my investment approach.
