In the creation of the IMF each member sought to create a sound financial system by contributing part of their country's gold holdings to its startup reserves. Now for all too obvious reasons, our Congress has been hoodwinked into approving the selling of some portion of that initial contribution, citizen's gold. It never ceases to amaze close followers of the will of Congress to embarrass themselves on a regular basis, as elected and proclaimed responsible representatives of their constituents, when they act so irresponsibly with little or no perspective of history.
And just think when most of them get thrown out of office next time around, they'll just mull around their houses for days wondering what happened? Most amazing of all is, the majority of these people are educated attorneys. We have an attorney in our family that likes to cheat his mother and brother for financial gain. One could easily surmise from Congress' continuing mistakes that it just might be something other than sheer stupidity that drives them.
