Just found back the news on the coins in written. It is only 2000 kg from the 7th and 8th century, found in Xian, China, near a temple.
People on this board may think this is a BS-message. However, I believe that the fact that this message reaches Dutch radio is an indication of the importance that PM metal coins (whether they are gold, silver or other) have in China.
China only knows gold market deregulation since 2003-2004, but with a history like they have (thinking about many centuries of gold/silver as a monetary standard but also about a last 50 years of a "bare" revolution) and added to that the innate habit of Chinese for speculation, you can imagine what important the posession of gold and silver may become in the years to come for the average Chinese citizen.
They more than anyone (except maybe for the Vietnamese) will be inclined to hold to the real money.
