Interesting to read about your "real world" experiences that demonstrate that well educated and relatively wealthy individuals have little or no interest in the stock market in general or in precious metals in particular. We often express frustration at the failure of prices of stocks like ECU to reflect the companies' true values which seem so obvious to us. These real world experiences seem to confirm that we don't have enough retail investors who recognize those values and see real opportunity there. Woe is us.
