For the first time in my life, I was thinking of going short the Dow or S&P in a few days time with a small part of my remaining money. However, upon checking, it turns out my broker, ABNAMRO, momentarily doesn't allow any put options nor short turbo's on the indices or on individual shares, unless you own the shares.

So apparently, for private investors ( I am sure the funds still have their ways)long gold/silver and the shares is the only way to go short the main indices.

After all, that may turn out to be positive for gold and silver.
