989 or 1000 the major resistance?

I believe Jim Sinclair wrote some time ago that it is $989-990 Gold which is the major resistance before $1030+.

If this is true we have already taken out the resistance and backtested it and $1000 is merely a psychological resistance, which obviously can be played out by the Cartel against those focussing on that number.
