Hi Wannabe!

There are very few mining stocks that pay a dividend right now, and the ones that do are just token amounts. If your investment plan is to buy stocks with strong yield, then you should stay away from the mining sector. Maybe things will change in the future, but for now it is what it is. The reason people buy the mining stocks is for capital gains.
