For all in the U.S., this is truly a momentous day. You have chosen wisely. This is indeed a very special human being with the total package. I suspect all will remember where they were today when we look back at history.

Your new President most eloquently threw down his glove to your country and the world. He is signalling an intellectual transformation of government rather than a political transmission of government. There is a conviction and sincerity in that man that is rare. You can see the undaunting determination in his eye and feel his total, unfazed commitment. He knows much is expected from those who have much. You do not doubt his compassion, nor do you doubt his principle. Only fools will try to take advantage of these God given traits. Those who do, will most regrettably realize it only too late. This is a fair minded man who will not be trifled with. The collective impact of all these traits will grow with momentum.

President Obama offered up no illusions and, I believe, he made it crystal clear that the road ahead will be most challenging. Courage, honesty and doggedness will be required and most of all, patience.

This man knows where evil lies and he will root it out, if given the time and support. He is embarking on one of the most dangerous paths any President has ever taken. Let us all hope that Americans stand behind this man of hope like never before, as he wll need their support like never before.

I'm sure most Canadians feel the same way. This is your day, U.S.A. Enjoy it to the fullest.
