I just don't get it. Japan has had near 0% interest on its bonds for years and was the focus of carry trade transactions that fueled many hedge funds. Their currency stays strong and they now offer to bail out the bankrupt US.

Could it be that the service and financial industries are not enough of a base for an economy? Na!

Obama will save us. The rumor at the barber shop is that he will make his haircut mandatory for all males with hair. It will require haircuts once or twice a week thus stimulating the second biggest sector, putting people back to work, causing demand for loans to buy shops, hair clippers, scissors and brooms. We'll be saved without the embarrassing bail-out!!
