I continually wonder whether the general markets are on a narrow ledge, looking nervously down to a very deep canyon floor, or if the markets have fallen near that floor in November. It would not surprise me to see the Dow in the 4,000's before this is over - it might sicken me, but not surprise me.

2008 has not been a particulary good year for me in many respects, but the last half of the year has been unprecedented in terms of financial aspects. There have surely been well over a dozen stories, any one of which would have been the financial story of the year in many years, but in 2008, they are just one more tale.
