I see in today's Financial Post a brief mention of tax loss selling:

"The last date Canadian investors can liquidate Canadian equities in the 2008 tax year is Dec. 24, when North American equity markets are open for half the day. The last day to trade US-listed equities is Dec. 26, but many brokers will be closed for Boxing Day."
