The China gold story sure does need collaboration. I've read it before more than once that China will/ might/should/could/is-going-to buy gold with its huge reserves but nothing official that I remember. Maybe this story will give it all some legs ,but unfortunately, the usual "unnamed industry people in Hong Kong" are quoted with no elaboration on any plan. Trial balloon perhaps or another rumor.

Makes no sense to me that China would announce they are going to buy this size gold unless, as DONTCRYFORME just posted, they have another agenda, which could sure pass as one big club.
