Speaking of charts and as you may know, one of the regulars on Bill Murphy's Le Metropole the other day posted the individual charts of all 15 Dow utility stocks over a one-year period. Every single one showed a waterfall pattern of frightening proportions. Sickening really, since so many people have large gobs of retirement money in these so-called recession proof companies.
That utilities are all getting hit like this is really troubling. They're not supposed to do this, especially all of them at once. Even Florida Power and LIght (FPL), the big, "safe" utility here in Florida is down from over 70 to 30 something. I know quite a few people with money tucked away in this one and they are glass-eyed over it.
By the way, my brother in Lufkin (no, he's not Lufkinunit) lost only a few shingles off his roof during the hurricane. Looks like Lufkin was spared. So close to Houston but yet so far. Glad you're back safe and sound.
