On Friday I tried to buy some more Silver but none of my usual sources in the Greater Ottawa/Hull region had any Silver in stock. No Maple Leafs, no bars and no junk Silver. Nada. At any rate I figured some of these dealers might be holding back on supply bought at higher levels so I did say that I was willing to buy Silver at $1-$2 premium over spot but the answer was still the same. There were simply no ounces to be had in an area that serves a population base exceeding a million. Based on the acute persistent shortages in Silver with only a handful of retail buyers, I can only imagine how astronomically high the POS has to go to free up enough supply for the average Joe when he finally wants in on a piece of the action. The mechanics of supply and demand at work today where the waiting period to secure bullion is 8 weeks long and growing with each passing month, will certainly translate into hundreds of dollars an ounce as this bull market unfolds.
