With geopolitics being rather quiet over the past several months, it appears the calm has ended.
Firstly, we all know that a massive naval armada is currently enroute to the Persian Gulf. The arrival of such a group with enormous offensive capabilities is highly suspicious considering that the Bush Administration is in its last days and a presidential election is right around the corner.
Secondly just today, "Poland and the United States reached an agreement Thursday to base American missile interceptors in Poland, going ahead with a plan that has angered Russia and threatened to escalate tensions with the region's communist-era master." This will no doubt enrage Comrade Putin and it is interesting that it suddenly came about after years of haggling.
