Good find. I read a banner on BNN Financial this evening that mentioned this very same headline. It does strike me as an oddball though in that it makes one wonder what all the fuss is about when only a fraction of a fraction of a percent of all financial transactions are conducted in PM-backed currency. Surely there are better opportunities out there in the real world to nab the worst offenders. Rather it occurs to me this is a typical disinformation diversionary tactic that attempts to refocus media attention off of the worst perpetrators of all time - Wall St financiers - not to mention the Canadian Insitutionals we discussed yesterday, the ones who have been ripping us off for years while the regulators turn a blind eye.

Clearly the best opportunity to launder illegally-gained funds without detection are to be found in coventional financial settlement mechanisms so why not focus crime prevention efforts there? Wasn't the Pentagon unable to account for a Trillion Dollars worth of spending just last year? What happenned to Billions of Dollars of freshly minted cash that got lost in Iraq recently? Why exempt Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac from normal accounting procedures allowing them to hide Trillions in bad accounting gone horribly wrong? How many untold Trillion$$ will Joe Sixpack have to cough up in terms of roaring inflation for everyday expenses going forward? .... all in the name of Central Banks bailing out the moral hazard tab built up by Wall Street Financial scumbags who scammed pensioners, municipalities, central banks and all good people who invested hard won savings in good faith...... convincing them to participate in well-organized scams blessed by paid off rating agencies who held their noses while stamping their seal of approval on these supposed AAA securities? etc etc ad nauseum. Hello is anyone awake at the helm?
