It's possible that the devastation of the earthquake may get the government to mandate retrofitting and stricter building standards that will add to the demand for certain materials.

As bad as it is in Sichuan province, though, the horrors in Myanmar are truly beyond comprehension. And reading the reports of that government's response makes one wonder if they are using this natural disaster as a way to cull their population. Very bad stuff.
