Hi ororico, below is the letter I sent to my MP....
Dear Mr. (MP)
Perhaps you have heard about this already but the Royal Canadian Mint has entered the risky world of leasing precious metals instead of buying off of the spot metal markets to make their coinage. Although that is their business, what I find unacceptable as a tax payer is that delving into the world of leasing metals can and already has lead to major losses as commodity prices continue to soar. From the link above, you can see that their losses are already nearing $50 million that will most likely be charged to taxpayers.
Subsequently, I am demanding that the Royal Canadian Mint be held accountable for their irresponsible actions that are at the expense of the tax payer.
