I am getting caught up on news after my vacation this week, and the latest ECU press release has caught my attention. Note the comments:
"Development plans are to continue driving the cross-cut as well as open fresh east-west drifts that will follow each of these new vein discoveries. Our intent is to investigate for additional veins and to confirm grade and width continuity along these veins.
The Company also reports that it has recently completed a cross-cut on Level 18 of the Santa Juana vein system adjacent to a stockwork of vein packages (the "A's Package"). Several additional veins were found in this new area and the Company is currently compiling results before final interpretations are made and reported. " - ENDQUOTE
I point out that the sample results that have been reported from the 3 new veins are all from the crosscut which has been driven from the upper layers, just 80m below surface. One should consider the history of the discoveries at Velardena to get more perspective on the significance. Most of the other veins that have been mined were all very narrow, high grade structures near surface. As exploration continued to depth, they developed into wider veins and stockwork zones. Also, the individual veins tend to converge, like spokes on a wheel.
Since we know that new veins have been found on the cross cut down to level 18, this should give a hint that we can expect more significant vein widths to be reported from these lower levels in the near future.
For full disclosure, I wish to note that ECU has recently become a paid advertiser on my website. I have owned ECU shares for several years and written numerous articles about the company. I reserve the right to criticize the company if I feel it is appropriate, and I am not a spokesperson for the company. My comments are based on my own opinion.
cheers!
