true, another point, gold was rising over 1000.00 with no significant pull back, likely one was engineered via the futures market, the commodity market for silver was supposed to be weaker as a result of reports of more metal coming in from recycling, but that would have no direct impact on Comex, especially with the tonnes of outstanding short contracts.

I read another report on silver stocks earlier on silver seek commenting that the loss of shares strength against the metal was as a result of Nov-Jan shares sell off, matching the SP500. No consideration that shares are generally sold off in Dec anyway (tax loss selling), or that Jan and Feb have been poor months for silver in Canada over the lst year or two. Its probably as to take a lot of opinion with a pinch of salt and read enough different opinions to form ones own.

The idea that inflation may fall in coming quarters due to a weakening in commodity prices , may be in expectation of an imminent rising dollar, with an expectation that markets will sell commodities prices in dollars as a result. In which case the Fed isnt taking into account this commodity bull market may be about rising international consumption patterns rather than the USD, or that people (everywhere) just dont believe the inflation data being circulated. (I might add that a similar inflation index operates now in the UK and europe, and a lot of attention is being focussed now on the mismatch between governments assessment of inflation and the reality of significantly higher fuel and food prices. Who's bothered about cheaper CD players when they're not in the weekly shopping basket?.
