It is not possible to buy silver direct from a producer like ECU. The reason is that our recovery process does not produce pure, refined silver. We produce a concentrate, which is basically fine, black sand that is rich in silver, lead, and zinc. That concentrate is then sold to a smelter like Penoles, where it is refined to pure silver. There is nothing to stop ECU from requesting delivery of the pure silver and paying market price for it, but the price they gain for selling the concentrate is much less per ounce than the price for pure silver.
