I've read the book and I don't dissagree. I'm a firm believer in shareholders being active.

I lately try to pick stocks that have activists as insiders.

You make valid points, but I was involved in a shareholder revolt and besides a great education, I got stuck with a large legal bill. Shareholders will talk tough and crumble like cookies the moment it gets a little rough. That is why we put up with mediocre management. It's not good but at least we don't have to do it!!

Get 30 million shares to back you and your there. I would recommend you find a Board member who doesn't just have one vote, but has the ability to sway the majority. That takes diplomacy and deft. Not threats.
