as regards to this often quoted % of juniors to become mines: (1 in 1000-2000 depending on point of view)

the important thing here is that the % pertains to all juniors on the date of their incorporation: ...thier first day on the TSX ...in the business as explorers.

from that day forward, the % may will change for individual companies, depending on how successful the junior explorer does in thier drill programms as they firm up a deposit ...or not :) ... we know, that as years pass on, there are some explorers who are more succesful than others in this vital process.

investors, when considering investing in one of the 2000 juniors on the exchange, must ask the question: has this junior increased the % chance for one of their properties in becoming a mine ??

there are about 100 top juniors that have a much better chance of becoming a mine than the remaining thousand or so on the exchange... this is because they have substancially shown a viable deposit to some degree through on going resource estimate. ...and often times the top 1OO only have one primary location of claims that they have ended up focussing on.

some of these 100 juniors have a 1 in 2-3 chance of having a property become a mine. therefore these juniors would comprise the top ten (aproximately)

as an example. ...in my portfolio, i have GNH as one of the top ten juniors on the exchange.

the most important duty of an investor is to find the top 100 out of all 2000 plus on the exchange ...and then to identify the top 10 at which time you might want to do a few private placements :)) ....or simply purchase at 52 week lows ...and hold on until your own designated exit point ...in this stratagy, 100% appreciation is realized 80 % of the time! ...this i can conclude from expearience but it takes patience, discipline and a very long wait at times ...and Warren Buffit will verify these as the most important tools of success, any kind of success: market investing, robbing a bank, operating a reasaurant or any other business, ...and parenting, which is the most important:)) (i call it PDW:))
