I think you can blame Tilsley and his conservatism on that one. If there is only one nugget in the core, when you cut the core, do you send the half with the nugget or the other half? Tilsley would want to keep the half with the nugget so that if anyone questionned him on it he could say...see, there it is! If there is more than one nugget than they really try to saw up the middle of it and divide it in half but my guess is we did not have any clusters of gold in the VG of these holes.
