The reason I think that Mineraldfields Group does not acquire sahres on the open market is that they are in the business of creating Limited Partnerships which acquire flow-trough shares for their clients. After a certain time, the partnership is dissolved and the assets are rolled into Funds. I don't see the purpose of Mineraldfield to acquiring shares on the exchange really, but maybe the 'post-partnership' Funds could acquire some shares on the market from time to time... Anybody knows more about Joe Dwek strategy?

Knowledge of JDM behaviour and strategies is certainly relevant since they usually hold important (sometimes huge) positions in their invested companies, and as such, they may become a key player regarding certain decisions, take-over bids, etc...
