That might be useful for the surface zones but you would give up a lot of tonnage on zones that are hidden beneath the sediments. As I understand it, the multiplier can come from the bulk sampled material. The strategy is to produce an accurate gold grain size distribution plot and then to use this information to statistically derive the multiplier. Jim Tilsley has done this before- in fact when I went to his home last summer he showed me a set vials representing the grain size distribution from the placer deposit for which he previously generated a resource estimate for. Jim claims it is the only resource estimate of its kind on a placer type resource and sees many similarities between the nuggety nature of GNH gold and that project. It is tedious and very time consuming work to get an accurate and representative grain size distribution from the pulverized samples - but once you have the data it usually stands the test of time.
