This has been a point of discussion many times and it has been stated that the "plan" is to have 100MT of minable rock by 2010..
So have we as shareholders made an error in making end of 2010 more fact than "speculation"? Sasha is stating that he and others were hopful but nothing was guarenteed.
1. Is this goal is still achievable by this Christmas?
A1: The goal is definitely still 100Mt. It was speculated to be by the end of 2010. I say speculated because there was never an official NR stating a timeline, nor was there anything in print (i.e. in the presentation or on the website).
Naturally the majority of us would agree that there are always circumstances that can get in the way of any progess from weather issues to mechancial failure. So none of us should be thinking that this goal was a time bound promise.
However it does lead me to the next logical question:
What circumstances are leading Sasha to caution us regarding expectations of 100MT by the end of 2010 and what might this time extention be? March 2011?
Either way it does not sway me regarding the potential the lies beneath if there is any one lesson I find repeated in investing and that is things always take longer than one thinks.
