When you accuse someone of "using" misleading untrue statements, I think it only fair and courteous to state what you believe to be the truth, unless you are insinuating that the party is making the statement in bad faith. The forum did run rampant this weekend, but in my view, it would be a shame to go to the opposite extreme.
In fact, why not just provide what you believe is the correct info?
