New Discovery Resulting in a 20KM Mineralized Gold Belt
I got a Pm today with quite an interesting question, because I was very positive on the extended drill contract.
Let me just quote part of that PM:
"You said "...For me, the triple extension of an initial 2000m drill program still speaks volumes and I eagerly await next week....".
What do you think of the possibility that the drill program was extended 3 times because the first ones didnt come up with anything worthwhile. So they've had to keep drilling, in the hope they'll finally hit some significant mineralisation."
This argument, extended drill program = no positive results, I wouldn´t support, because:
a) when GNH extended the contract twice for an additional 2000m, they wouldn´t have known the exact results of the previous drilling at that point.
b) they put out NR´s talking about "drilling success" and "visible gold"
April 22 NR: 1st phase drilling to be completed during the first week of May 2010
April 30 NR: 12 of 16 holes completed, additional 2000m contracted, no results available
June 3 NR: Headline: Golden Hope Mines Further Extends its Drilling Contract as a Result of Recent Exploration Success PLUS
Mr. Candido was quoted in this NR: "We are greatly encouraged by having intersected quartz veining in every hole, with some holes showing visible gold as well."
And the program was extended for an additional 2000m.
June 17 NR:
The program began April 13 with an initial 2000 metres planned. This was completed by April 23 with very encouraging results that warranted an additional 2000 metre extension of the contract announced April 30. The third 2000-metre phase of the 2010 drilling program is currently in progress and approaching the half-way mark.
Mr. Candido was quoted with: "We are extremely pleased with the progress made this spring at the Bellechasse-Timmins deposit. Drilling has intersected extensions of known mineralized zones, discovered new mineralized zones, and confirmed the usefulness of the soil gas hydrocarbon geochemistry done last fall and winter. Preliminary drill data suggest at least 13 parallel mineralized zones including the previously known Timmins 1, Timmins 2 and 88 zones. Visible gold has been observed in five drill holes, a great encouragement in a deposit having only about 15% to 20% of the contained gold present in grains large enough to be seen with the naked eye. Approximately 1500 samples have been sent to Activation Laboratories in Ancaster, Ontario and we are awaiting results with great anticipation. This high level of activity assures an exciting and eventful field season."
This all doesn´t sound very negative to me, unless you don´t believe what the company says in their NR´s.
So my answer to the initial question "What do you think of the possibility that the drill program was extended 3 times because the first ones didnt come up with anything worthwhile.?" is : NOTHING !
But maybe we can have some others commenting on this subject.
