rago, they might be right (i think interest rates going forward will be a big factor), but it's hard to argue against the fact that "long term" gold is simply getting harder to find and is being used for more and more industrial purposes...

look at most of your current producers/explorers...they're scavenging worked over deposits...and many are nearing "end mine life"...

i guess what i'm saying is, if the demand remains at all, then gold will have to stay fairly high just to make it feasible to produce....i can see a pullback, but i believe the days of $500oz are long gone.......

a large portion of the gold being produced today is being produced at higher cash costs than $500oz...so just how far can gold pullback? $800-$1000?
