Better crack into it...
I was already downtown, I arrived about a half hour early. I'd met Bob Stocks, our newest board member at PDAC so we chatted for a bit. I thanked him for gracing us with his presence. He's a senior partner at Faskens, which is one of the biggest law firms in Canada. I asked him how many boards he was sitting on, 14? He modestly said, no...more like 6 or something.
Here's his resume from a quick google search....

I did a brief search on his current board positions - they all appear to be doing at least $100M in sales and go upwards from there. GNH is probably the smallest company he has ever sat on.
Anyways, Bob is a sweetheart of a guy - that's about that. As I mentioned before, the benefit of Bob is huge, but I think the BEST part about him joining our co is that establishing a strong BOD is a chicken and egg problem. You can't get reputable people on the board until you have reputable people on the board. Kudos to Frank for landing Mr Stocks. I told 2 of my skeptical suit buddies he was going to be on the board and I could see their wheels spinning in their minds...'hmm, could this Bob Stocks character be in on the scam??'
Great to see Sasha and Frank. Still looking as the least likely miners on Bay St.
We went through the motions of the voting yada yada. The highlight here was Frank asking the room if we were having a good time yet somewhere in the middle of all the drivel. It got a laugh and I was thinking afterwards how I hadn't actually heard 1 word that had been said up until that point as they carried the motions through. 13.7% voted. Only 1 shareholder opposed anything.
I joked with Bob that I was rallying to get him kicked off the board already. I think he liked that.
Fortunately Frank cut right to it after the formalities. He assumed most people in the room knew the background and instead he focused on our present and future.
to be continued....
