I remember talking to Frank Candido after the meeting in a small huddle with other investors. He was very genuine and very interesting. He told us about the past AGMs for GNH. This year we had somewhere between 15-20 investors show up. Last year, there was exactly 0 that showed up. The year before that 0 as well. The year before that, there was 1...it was Frank who at that time was not part of the board.
As you can see, even though GNH has been around for a while, there really is a new direction and push to really do things right, and the investment community is following this story.
Another story was that the IR firm had organised a dinner with some brokers/analysts. They did not know who Frank was so he played incognito and asked them if they invested in junior mining...they answered "Never". Frank was joking when he said this but he said he wanted to take away their dinner plates he was so upset. Those guys were there for a free meal with zero intentions of investing in the company. As a shareholder, that upsets me as well and I was happy that Frank felt how he did in that situation. He gets it about shareholder value and burn rate and dilution. He hated doing the financing we just did. Diluting us the way it did but we need the money now and he promised that this was the last cheap private placement...and I believe him!
