Thanks OF,

I can answer your question for you - in the real quick version. It does not pose a problem. As per a recent post and poll, Quebec was rated as the #1 district in the WORLD for mining. Here's why.

Property owners have no rights on their land in regards to mining. The holder of a mining claim can mine the land as long as suitable and fair replacement as compensation is given to the landowner. Osisko is probably the best and most recent case study as they moved an entire city!

Now if they have oil in the ground, I suppose that would be an issue with those with the oil rights - but I can't imagine that is a common occurence.

It's that simple in broad strokes. Fire Sasha an email if you like - he's quite knowledgeable on this and I've asked him about it several times as I find it hard to believe.

Now I'm not saying there are not politcial risks involved and that everybody will cheer and say 'yay, I'm moving from my hometown for nothing!' but this is the root of the laws in Quebec.

Further to that, Dany the field supervisor mentioned to me that the Province is changing some laws to expedite exploration of claim holders. Something like increasing the amount to either hold or invest in your claim and also reducing the amount of time you have to do that.

In my amateur opinion, I think the fact the this site is in Quebec is actually #1 on the list of reasons why this is a great investment. If the gold is there in large quantity, it's going to be gongshow watching the majors fight over this property to get a stronghold on the Beauce.
