Bluebird,
This is cut from one my previous posts.
'I was wrong about anyone from Osisko being involved in working with GNH directly. Apparently John Burzynski (OSK chief) wrote his masters thesis on the area and got more of working knowledge of the Beauce through the 2003-04 JV. It has been mentioned but I should add again that Peter Smith was on the BOD of GNH. Peter Smith is FNC. FNC has done some pretty major staking here. Companies involved here now are BOW/OSK, FNC, UBR and VDO.'
So, in a very large nutshell? In around 2003 Osisko was actually drilling on the GNH property. Check out the Osisko archive of press releases around that time. It's quite surprising but the majority of Osisko activity was focused on this area. They seemed quite happy with the prospects but it was a JOINT venture and I believe there were some issues with GNH management and eventually OSK walked away and focused on their highly successful Malarctic project. OSK is now a $2B market cap company.
So they are back. Heavily staking the Beauce through a subsidiary called Bowmore. Perhaps to fly under the radar? Perhaps some other reason?
Peter Smith who is basically Fancamp. He was on the Goldenhope BOD. Not sure when he left, but Fancamp is also heavily staking the Beauce. Coincidence? Ha!
So..there you have it. 2 people who understand the Beauce intimately and they have just made a mad rush to the staking office picking up claims. Sashsa at GNH says they made a claim around Laval mountain quite recently and 2 hours later the entire area surrounding this claim was claimed by somebody else.
My scenario? Burzynski and Smith know of the best kept secret in Quebec and have the luxury of just sitting there and waiting until the timing is just right. They see that Candido at GNH has dug Tilsley out of retirement and is working to prove out their Timmins zone. Hmm, if they do a good job the secret will be out. Gold goes on a tear and looks to have an even brighter future. Burzynski knows his time is up and then dials up Bowmore to rapidly stake claims for Osisko. Smith sees that Burzynski has reacted, and now he must react! The frenzy ensues and the Quebec mining claims map proves that this is the most recently and highly staked region in all of Quebec.
That's how I see it.
I'm feeling pretty good about our prospects here. The only thing I don't know is how long it will take the market to realize what is going on in the Beauce. With some good results, a few key people involved and a little buzzzzzzzz, I'm sure that GNH will be one of the hotties in the corner looking for a dancing partner at the PDAC. I'm sure she will garner some attention. Maybe we will get some coverage initiated by a few brokerage firms and then we'll never look back!
