New Discovery Resulting in a 20KM Mineralized Gold Belt
Again, this is off the top of my head from a teleconference I was on with Frank Candido a few months ago but here goes.
One of the reasons why the Beauce has been relatively undiscovered was because of it's location south of the St. Lawrence River.
As previously noted, it was the site of the first North American gold rush. So...why hasn't this area been desecrated by the gold miners?
The reason is because it was south of the St. Lawrence River it was considered part of the anglophone, and perhaps Upper Canada and subject to English rules. In English rule, mining claims were only specific to the registered OWNERS of the property. So, in order to succesfully mine the property you had to OWN the property which, as you can imagine, is quite cost prohitbive.
In proper Quebec or the francophone area - the mining claims rules were much different.
All this changed, I believe sometime in the 80's if memory serves and the Beauce was subject to traditional Quebec legislation. That is when the original Golden Hope Mines was formed and the plethora of drilling you see on their maps was done. I think the price of gold fluctuated in and out of being economical to mine and in the 90's GNH was essentially a worthless shell company listed on the TSX-V. It was used by Candido et al as part of the tech boom as were so many other 'shell companies'. Heck, I think I wanted a shell company back then!
So Tilsey, who is the geologist on this project was the guy on site in the 80's and KNOWS whats in the ground. That's why he came out of retirement. He knew this place was special and that the previous management was unable ro get this mine in progression. He also surmises that drilling is not the way to go here....it's bulk sampling, for which the results are imminent.
Part of the original management of GNH became one of the lead principals at Osisko. So...Osisko knows what's in the ground here as well. They have been staking in tandem with another company here which escapes me but it's on the previous threads from Justice etc.
I also encourage any new or prospective shareholders to read the Melman Report on GNH. I'm sure you can google it. It's the best 2 or 3 pager synopsis you can find if you want the 'Coles notes.' (Not Cliffs notes please, yuk yuk)
That's what I got for now off the top of my head. I've been reading up on GNH for about 2 months now so I know what's easy to find and whats not. I also know that many are probably like me and take the lazy mans way to DD and read it here on Agoracom. Don't quote me on this history but I feel pretty good that the jist of it is 100%. Times and dates I can't remember....
